Regie L. Barr, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Abilene. Graveside services will be 2:30p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Pioneer Cemetery on Hwy 36, Pioneer, TX. Arrangements were handled by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene.

Regie was born on September 1, 1937 to John Watson and Rosetta Clark Barr, Sr. in Wheeler, Texas. He attended public schools and graduated from Wheeler High School. He married the late Glenda Brown on December 23, 1957. Regie had worked in the oil industry as a pumper. Later he owned and operated a barbeque place at Pioneer and was renowned for the best barbeque on Highway 36. Regie was a Baptist.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John W. Barr, Jr. and Nathan Barr; a sister, Lois Powers; and in-laws, Homer Brown and Lucille McGowan Brown Cooper.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Barr Creager and husband, Johnny of Breckenridge, TX and a sister, Margie R. Barr McAlister and husband, Butch of Ft. Worth, TX.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fakhoury, Rob, Karen, and staff at Southside Dialysis, Hendrick Hospice, and the staff at Wisteria Place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice or Meals On Wheels.
