Lamar Eugene Aldy

Lamar Eugene Aldy of Pennington, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was 79.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home chapel in Durant with burial in Mizpah Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Cain officiated.

Pallbearers were: Buck Burrell, Bobby Cain, David Cain, James Robertson, Roy Sims, and Shack Williams.

Mr. Aldy was born on March 21, 1927, in Attala County, son of Fred M. Aldy and Hilda Burrell Aldy. He was employed by James River Paper Company. Mr. Aldy served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Downer Aldy; a son, Johnny Lamar Aldy of Lisman, Alabama; a daughter, Rita McCann and husband Marty of Meridian; and a grandson, Zolan Henderson of Ft. Myers, Florida.
