Hoover Adams, 92, of Dunn died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Liberty Commons in Benson.
Mr. Adams was born in Dunn, March 6, 1920, to the late Alexander Benton Adams and Lou Flora Morgan Adams.
Mr. Adams, founder of The Daily Record, was a World War II veteran, founder of the General William C. Lee Commission and former Dunn Man of the Year, among numerous other accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Faison Adams, Spencer Adams, Mallie Jackson, Melva Adams, and twin brother, Herbert Adams.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev. Ken Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the General William C. Lee Commission at 209 W. Divine St., P.O. Box 1111, Dunn, NC 28334; or to the Jesse Helms Center at 3910 U.S. 74 East, Wingate, NC, 28174.
