Betty's servant heart was evident in her ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church, her employment at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community, through her community service, and through her loving acts of kindness. She was a faithful witness throughout her life, maintaining her humor and faith despite her illness. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jim (James Harvey) Alyea. She is survived by her sisters Hiroko Surface and Kyoko Kagehara; and brother, Mitsaki Nakahara; and by her children: Thomas Alyea, Kathy Alyea, Liz AlyeaBrooks, Rosemary Alyea, Margaret Alyea, and Donald Alyea; and by sons- and daughters-in-law, Melissa Horton, Michael Brooks, Van Harriman, and Venus Alyea; and by 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
