Hobbsan Stricken On Street

Funeral services will be held today for a 63-year-old Hobbs man stricken Friday afternoon on a downtown street.

Edgar Neff Banks, 601 East Humble, died in Llano Estacado Medical Center of an apparent heart attack after he was stricken shortly after noon Friday at the corner of Texas and Del Paso. He was taken by Hobbs City Ambulance to LEMC where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Banks was born Dec. 19, 1912 in Tennessee.

Survivors include his widow, Helen, of the home; a son, Billie Joe Banks of Hobbs; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Wooten of Coachella, Calif., Mrs. Bess Wonten of Indio, Calif., Mrs. Florence Norris of Nevada; three grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. in Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James D. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Inez Cemetery.
