Isabel Apodaca, age 95, beloved mother and aunt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family.
Isabel was a lifelong resident of Algodones, NM, where she was a member of San José Catholic Church.
Isabel enjoyed cooking for her family and was an excellent pie maker.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Julia Apodaca.
Isabel is survived by her loving daughter, Lavonia Sánchez and her husband, Dan, her sister, Leonila Gurulé, nieces, Julia González and her husband, Mario, Lorella Lovato and her husband, Marvin, Veronica Acosta and her husband, Ray, Tonie Méndez and her husband, Tony, Evelyn Sánchez and her husband, Randy, Clara Durán and her husband, Tony, Viola Jackson and her husband, Chad, Brisa Apodaca and Deidra and nephew, Robert Gurulé. Also surviving are many great and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Isabel will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San José Catholic Church in Algodones, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. and followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Algodones Community Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Steven Acosta, Florentino Vásquez, Mario González, John Brown, Santiago Córdova and Joseph Lyle. Honorary Bearers will be Raymond Acosta, Dan Sánchez and Chad Lovato.
