Mr. Walter K. Ages, Sr. 85, of 902 Hardegree Dr., Columbus, GA died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.

Mr. Walter K. Ages, Sr. was born on May 28, 1925 in Columbus to the late Ulysses and Claudia Mae Ages. Mr. Ages was a member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Inspirational Choir, where he served faithfully until becoming ill. He was also a member of the Pathseekers' Civic and Social Club. Mr. Ages retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway Company after more than forty years of service. After retirement Mr. Ages served as a security guard for Wells Fargo and worked as a driver for Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home until his health failed.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathryn Hudson Ages; three siblings, Jewelene Gibson, Robert Ages and George Ages and one grandson, Daryel L. Hardaway, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Vicki Hardaway (Daryel) of Columbus; one son, Walter Ages, Jr. (Kathy) of Ellenwood, GA; siblings, Claudia Harvey (Joe), Homer Lee Ages (Evelyn), both of Columbus and James "Sonny" Ages (Vicki) of Rialto, CA; four grandchildren, D'Yana Lyn Hardaway, Devan Lexis Hardaway both of Columbus , Walter Ages, III and Kierra Denai Ages, both of Ellenwood, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.
