F.G. "Jack" Adams, 83, of Sikeston, MO, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1926, in Double Springs, AL, to the late W.G. and Elma McDonald Adams, he was a truck driver for 29 years for Potlatch, Inc. in Sikeston and previously drove transport trucks for Elfrink Trucking in Cape Girardeau and Reliable Transportation in Sikeston. He was a member of the Miner Baptist Church.
On Nov. 3, 1945, he married Maxine Gage who preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1988.
On Aug. 17, 1990, he married Mary Eaton who survives of the home in Sikeston.
He is also survived by: his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis "Bud" and Debby Adams; four daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Frances Wrather, Linnie Adams, Jackie and Moon McDonald and Janis Adams; two stepsons, Danny Eaton and his wife Sandy and Tommy Eaton; one stepdaughter and her husband, Sandra and Kyle Guthrey; one brother, William Leo Adams, three sisters, Marie Geselle, Jewell James and Dorothy Glover: six grandchildren, Tony Wrather, Becky Barber, Shelley Mainord, Amie Blechle, Natalie Manley and Denny Adams; 12 great-grandchildren, Heather Wrather, Hannah Wrather, Hailey Mainord, Gage Barber, Bailey Manley, Madison Blechle, Jackson Manley, Logan Blechle, Dillen Adams, Josie Mainord, Gracie Barber and Eli Manley; one great-greatgranddaughter, Alexis Sophia Wilson; and six stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreatgrandchildren.
Visitation was at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Services were held in the Nunnelee Chapel with Rev. Jim Matthews of the Cape County Cowboy Church officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Duke Mainord, Tony Wrather, Denny Adams, Mike Blechle, Chris Manley and Danny Eaton.
Honorary pallbearers were: Charles "Moon" McDonald, Lad Neal, David Neal, Kyle Guthrey, Gage Barber, David Canady, Mitch Thompson, Dillen Adams, Jackson Manley and Logan Blechle.
