Dallas Leon "Beanie" Adkins, 66, of Penhook, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

He was born on June 5, 1946, the son of the late Clyde Adkins Sr. and Macy Bradner Adkins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James William (Shorty) Adkins; brother-in-law, Ran Jamison; and nephew, John Jamison.

He was a member of Museville Christian Church and attended Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren, 2228 Circle Creek Road, Penhook, VA 24137 with the Rev. Mike Gallimore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery, Sago Road, Penhook, Va. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night, November 14, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren, c/o Jeremy Adkins, 16405 Snow Creek Road, Penhook, VA 24137. Arrangements by Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, Va.,
