Russell Bossard, 54, of Pacifica, CA, returned to his heavenly father, March 24, at Mary's Help Hospital in Daly City, unexpectedly from complications of a stoke.
A native of Troy, New York, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah as a young boy. And to his beloved San Francisco, in his mid 30's, where he spent the remainder of his years, by the ocean he loved so much. He served in the US Navy in WWII. He was a mechanic by trade, and loved cars. Later Russell became a Postal Security Supervisor in San Francisco's Rinkin Annex Office, and a member of the Postal Supervisors Union of San Francisco. He married Deon Holdaway in 1940, and had two daughters from that union, Judy Lee Bossard Lord and Linda Jean Bossard Edwards Furbush. Divorced in 1954, he married Veronique Alma in 1957. He was a member in good standing of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Russell is survived by his widow, Veronique; two daughters, Judy of Salt Lake City, Utah and Linda of Everett, Washington. Brothers, Earl Bossard of North Carolina, Judge Sterling Bossard of Utah, sisters, Virginia Scherrer of Orange County, CA. and Eleanor Hays of Lancaster, CA. Four grandchildren, Lynnette, Peggy, Johnny and Amy, and his beloved mother, Mrs. Elsbeth Bossard of Lancaster, California. Preceded in death by his father, Gisbert Ludolf Bossard by one month.
An LDS Funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel by the Sea, Pacifica, CA. with a viewing prior at 9:00am. A Rosary will be recited in his behalf, Thursday evening at 7 p.m. same location. As his loving wife said, "I want to be sure he is covered no matter what." Interment will be Mt Olivet Daly City Cemetery, Military Section.
Donations to a favorite charity in his name would be preferred.
