Jerry Lee Beets age 76, passed this life on Friday, April 18, 2014 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born on June 18, 1937 in Galena, Kansas to George and Mildred Carrigle (Beets). Jerry has lived in the Wagoner area for over 44 years. He married his late wife Joyce (Chastain) on January 21, 1956 in Wagoner, and celebrated 57 wonderful years together before her passing on April 26, 2013. Jerry proudly served his country for fourteen years in the United States Army National Guard. He worked for the John Zink Company as a material handler for over 17 years in Tulsa, then American Airlines where he held various positions until his early retirement after ten years of faithful service. Many Wagoner area residents will always remember Jerry as the former Wagoner County Inspector which he retired from that position in 1998. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, and fishing and was an excellent marksman and founder of the Oklahoma Bow Hunters Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Joyce and one brother, Sam Beets.
