Graveside Services for Olive R. Bradley were held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Eustis West Cemetery in Eustis, Nebraska with Pastor Shawn Banzhaf officiating.

Olive Rolene Bradley, 96 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand. Olive was born on May 6, 1919 in Burwell, Nebraska, the youngest of three sisters born to Martin and Lula Belle (Sherman) Warren. She received her education at Earl School in Frontier County near Orfino, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Dale Banzhaf in 1955 and to this union two children were born: Carol Ann and Larry Dale. She was divorced from Dale in 1968. In 1969 she married Earl Bradley from Brush, Colorado. They lived in Lexington, Nebraska for several years making fishing, gardening and cooking their lifestyle. She was divorced form Earl in 1974.

In later years, Olive moved to the Franklin, Nebraska area to be near her son, Larry and his family. She became the cook at their café in Macon, Nebraska where she enjoyed getting to know everyone in the area. In 2007 when her eyesight began to fail, she moved into assisted living in Franklin. Later, when her son, Larry and his wife, Darla moved to Bertrand, Nebraska she took up residency in the Assisted Living in Bertrand where she remained until her passing.

Olive had many hobbies including gardening, cooking, fishing and taking care of her pets, but the love of her life was her piano. In her earlier years, she played in a country and rag time band, but always took pleasure in sitting down to entertain everyone. Her gardening led to canning and that became a community gathering at time. Friends would bring their goods to her house and it would become a picnic that would last for days. She worked hard to take care of her surviving son, Larry and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann; and two sisters: Dorothy Hays and Eva Detriech.

Survivors include her son, Larry Banzhaf and his wife, Darla of Eustis; four grandsons: Shawn Banzhaf and his wife, Jodi and children of Glendale, Arizona; Shane Banzhaf and his children of Denison, Texas, Jason Banzhaf and his wife, Brandy and children of Loomis, Nebraska, Jeremy Banzhaf and his wife, Sandra and children of Minden, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Jessica Banzhaf and children of Hildreth, Nebraska; special niece, June Headricks of Wichita, Kansas and special nephew, Ray Dean Warrant of Pueblo West, Colorado; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege was in charge of the arrangements.
