BUNDE - CARPER

The marriage of Miss Edna Bunde and DeVerde Carper, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Carper, was solemnized Sunday morning at the Immanuel Lutheran parsonage, north of Ayr. Rev. E. Walter read the single ring ceremony. The bride wore an afternoon dress of blue crepe with matching accessories. Her attendant, Miss Irene Kothe, a niece of the bride, was attired in a wine colored ensemble with matching accessories. Lavelle Carper, the groom's nephew, attended the groom.

The bridal couple are well known in this community as Mr. Carper is farming west of town, where they will reside after March 1.

The bride has made her home since the death of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bunde, with a sister, Mrs. Arthur Grothen near Juniata. She has been employed at the C. D. Hoff Cleanes (sic) in Hastings.

Edna L. M. Carper, 91, of Ayr, Nebraska, died March 24, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Edna was born April 4, 1910 in Adams County, southwest of Hastings, Nebraska to Charles & Louise (Gartner) Bunde.

Edna married DeVerde Carper in Adams County, on February 19, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a life long area resident.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, DeVerde, 2 sisters and 9 brothers.
