Esther G. Langley, 76 years of age and lifelong resident of La Loma, NM, passed away at her home on October 1, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Langley, her parents, Corciño and Andrellita Garcia, brother, George Garcia, daughter, Darlene Lucero, grandson, Leroy J. Lucero and great-grandson, John G. Lucero. Esther is survived by her daughters, Maxine Langley and Pauline Langley Lucero and son-in-law, Anthony Lucero, 2 granddaughters, whom Esther raised as her own daughters, Judith M. Baca and RubyAnn M. Gomez and she is survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Isidro Garcia and his wife, Agneda, of Los Lunas, NM and Horacio Garcia of Anton Chico, NM, two sisters, Virginia and her husband Carlos Aragon of Albuquerque, NM, Nora Sena of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Esther did a lot for the Anton Chico Community and she was well-known. Esther was a member of the Eastern Plains Community Action Agency. Esther and her late husband John were involved with the Head Start program and were also involved in ensuring that the Health Centers remained opened to serve the people of Guadalupe County. They spent many years at the New Mexico Legislature fighting for issues that helped the Valley of Anton Chico and neighboring communities. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., at the San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., also at the San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dilia, NM. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Aragon, Julian Garcia, Kenneth Langley, Dennis Aragon, Leonard Claps and George Garcia.
