Her second husband was Melville William Miller (1925-1996), grandson of William A Thompson and Elsie May Lamb Thompson. They were married in 1944.

In 1920 she and her parents and five sisters lived on a farm in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, PA. They owned their home, mortgage free.

In 1930 she her parents, two sisters, and her paternal grandmother lived there on the farm, which was valued at $15,000.

In 1940 she and her first husband lived in a house they were renting for seven dollars a month on Fairground Road in Manor Township, Armstrong County, PA. He worked as a coal miner, with an income in 1939 of $950 for 52 weeks of work.
