Clayton Brimmer was born to eternal life Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at age 93 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Ethyl (nee Wilcox). He was the dear father of Jim, Mary (Bob) Hoelzer, Bill (Sheila), Donald, and Tom (Sue) Brimmer; grandfather to (the late) Lisa (Jeff) Wehr, Jamie Pendleton, and Chris (Jeanine) Brimmer; John (Debbie) Hemauer and Mark Hemauer; Mindy (Bill) Jacobs and Melanie (Justin) Lichtie; Lindsey (Dustin) Ries, Mackenzie (Mike) Zwaska, and Krissy (Ty) Kowalewski and Michael and Sarah Brimmer; great-grandfather of 24 and great-great grandfather of two. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

Clayton was born to William and Martha Brimmer and raised on the family farm in Waukesha. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years at the Waukesha Water Utility, retiring in 1972. He enjoyed sports, especially watching and playing golf, and traveling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife of 72 years and with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an exemplary husband, father and grandpa who will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Care Age of Brookfield and to Season’s Hospice for the kind and loving care they have provided.

Visitation will be held on from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Highway 59, Waukesha, WI 53189. Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
