The Angel of Death paid a pre-holiday visit at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Brueck in Sand Creek township on Thursday evening of last week, Dec. 20th. Answering the summons was Mr. Brueck, eldest member of the family and head of the house. Mr. Brueck had been ill abed and in care of a doctor for a week prior to his death which is ascribed to the infirmities of age.

In November of 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Weibel in St. Joseph's Catholic church at St. Joe, which has been the home parish of the family since pioneer days. To the union were born four children, two sons and two daughters, who live to mourn with their mother the death of a kind and loving husband and father. They are Mrs. Charles Geiger and Mrs. Mary Lallak of Shakopee and Math and George Brueck at home.
-------------His Interests, Home Centered
Jacob Brueck was quiet and retiring in character. He never sought public preferment, desiring to devote all of his time to his agricultural pursuits. He farmed on his Sand Creek land all his life and had very few outside interests.
Funeral services for this octogenarian were conducted from St. Joseph's Catholic church on Monday morning of this week at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Father Theophilus, pastor, read the requiem mass and music was furnished by the St. Joe choir. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Pallbearers were six neighbors, Herb Geis, Jos. Hennes, Henry Hentges, George Kuechle, Jos. Pauly and Geo. Pauly. Besides his wife and four children, Grandpa Brueck is also survived by five grandchildren.
