Edward Clarence Barker who was born near Hickman, Neb., Feb. 3, 1873, died Oct.
27, 1945.Mr. Barker who was reared on a farm near Martell began teaching school at the age of 19. His first school was located near Martell. For 25 years he taught and
was engaged as superintendant in schools in southern Lancaster county.He was united in marriage in 1896 to Lucy Belle Taylor. To this union one child, a son, was born.
Survivors include: his wife; his son, Boyd of Lincoln; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at the Broekema mortuary on Sunday with Rev. F.J. Fahrion officiating. Burial was made in Centerville cemetery.
