| Birth: | Jul. 25, 1907 | | Death: | Mar. 3, 1982 |  ROSELAND-Berkley Mays Campbell, 74, of Route 1, Roseland (Nelson County), died at noon Wednesday in Waynesboro Community Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Hurds on July 25, 1907, a son of the late Marcellus and Laura Dodd Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a retired mechanic from Paul Freed Ford and a member of the Beech Grove Christian Church where he was a deacon. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hallie Falls Campbell; two sons, Chester M. Campbell of Waynesboro and Bennett M. Campbell of Claremont, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. James R. (Leech) of Waynesboro; two brothers, Mcauldman Campbell and Maphis Campbell, both of Beech Grove; and one granddaughter and four grandsons. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Chapel of Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. J. D. Farries and Richard Koster. Interment will be in Beech Grove Christian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Carroll Campbell, Danny Leech, Edwin Leech, Joel Falls, Jerry Campbell and Bill Moyer. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ed Woodroof, Jessie Fitzgerald, Worthy Thompson, Ronnie Campbell, Maxie Campbell, Warren Fitzgerald, Garth Fields, Luther McGann, Layman Dodd and Dr. Thomas Gorsuch. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Roseland Rescue Squad and Beech Grove Christian Church. The family will receive friends in the residence of his son, Chester Campbell at 1157 Jefferson Ave. and from 7 to 8 tonight in the Etter Funeral home.
