Joseph Gary Bartley, 70,
husband of Hope Anderson Bartley, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014.
He was born October 1, 1943 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late William Joseph Bartley and Arnetta Breen Bartley. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Okeechobee, Florida, where he took up collection.
He served in the US Air Force and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons; Joseph Gary Bartley, Jr. and William Lee Bartley both of Georgetown, daughters; Melissa Carol Bartley (Mike) Hammond of Owen County, Melissa Carol Vance (Delbert) Collins of Georgetown,
Gail Gordon Gainey of Perryville and Sharon Gordon (Freddie) McQueary of Stanford, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brothers; Carroll William (Nancye) Bartley of Owenton and Ronald L. (Violetta Bay) Bartley of Okeechobee, Florida, stepmother; Pauline Haydon Bartley of Georgetown and step sister; Joyce Hymer Basser of Virginia.
Services will be 2 PM, Thursday, April 3 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Jim Gilbert officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Jones, Kenneth Cox, Paul Howell, Doug Fuller, Tim Maness, Jim Knoche and Scott Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Delbert Collins.
Burial will be at Crestlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 PM, Wednesday, April 2 at the funeral home.
