INEZ HEADDY

Word was received at Ellettsville Wednesday morning that Miss Inez Headdy, living at Chalmers, was dead. Funeral was held Friday with burial at Chambersville (sic -- WRONG CEMETERY - Inez was buried in the Methodist Cemetery at Ellettsville).

Inez would have been 20 years of age today. Some time ago, she had smallpox and complications followed which resulted in her death. She was a good girl and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

OBITUARY - INEZ MILDRED HEADDY

Inez Mildred, daughter of Charles A. and Belle Headdy, was born near Ellettsville, Ind., May 21, 1894. After a short illness, she died at Chalmers, Ind., May 20, 1914, aged 19 years, 11 months, and 29 days. The remains were brought to Ellettsville Thursday, the 21st to the home of her grandfather Thomas Headdy, and on Friday morning, funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in charge of Rev. R. Thorne of Martinsville; internment at the Methodist Cemetery.

Early in life, Inez gave her life to Jesus, becoming a member of the Baptist Church of this place. She was a girl of quiet, sweet disposition, energetic and dutiful to home, church, and friends. Four brothers, Roy, Dale, Dean, and Paul; and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Ellett (sic), with parents survive.

The large audience of sorrowing friends at the funeral and the beautiful floral offerings are a living testimony of the love and high esteem bestowed upon Inez.

The following were the pallbearers and flower bearers: Jania Folk, Jospehine Stinson, Anna Grace Harris, Eva Buchanan, Lillian Carpenter, and Ethel Senty. Flower bearers: Flay McCowan and Mary Hall.

The family desires us to express their gratitude to the friends for their kind attentions in this time of mourning and distress.
