Howard J. Strauss
77 of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Sudbury, MA. Passed away September 2, 2007 at home after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Howard leaves his beloved wife of 42 years Anne, two Sons; Marc and his wife Beth of Wilmington, NC, David and his wife Jodi of Maynard, MA; five grandchildren; Mark, Carley, Daniel, Cameron and Alexandra and one great-grandchild, Collin. Born in Germany, a survivor of the Holocaust and raised in New York City, Howard graduated from CCNY. He was employed at Sperry in NY and Raytheon as an electrical engineer. Howard was an innovator. Chess, photography, roller skating and skiing were his passions and he gave to the community teaching young children the art of chess in both Sudbury, MA and Wilmington, NC. Graveside Services at New Town Cemetery, Concord Rd., Sudbury, MA on Thursday, September 6, at 11:00a.m. Expressions of sympathy in Howard's memory may be donated to Dr. Judah Folkman Cancer Research, Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02215, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851, www.multiple myeloma.org or to a charity of your choice.
