Johnson Ketcher, was a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. His father was Tah-ne-yun-ta, a "Trail of Tears survivor," and his mother was Sa-la-ta. He married Sarah Jane née Holloway (pictured attached). She was of mixed Sephardic Jewish, Cherokee, and Choctaw ancestry. Together the couple had eight children; Celia, Alice, Susie, Lee, Nancy, Isaac, Cora and Walter. Johnson served as a U.S. Deputy Marshall and was one of the first full-blooded Cherokees to do so. (Bio by: Jay Lance)
