Rev. Cornelius "Poochie" Brown III A retired self-employed contractor and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 69 and a native of West Baton Rouge Parish.
He was a talented musician, soloist and contractor. Through his work for the Lord, he played for the elderly at the Sterling Place Nursing Home for 15 years.
Visiting at Little Zion Baptist Church, religious service, conducted by Marcus Jackson, pastor.
Interment in Lady of Knight Cemetery, Port Allen.
Survived by his former wife, Hazel L. Brown; five daughters, Sharon Brown Minor and husband Emmett, Karen Brown Albert and husband John, Deidra Brown, Brenda Cooper and husband William Jr., and Joycelyn Washington and husband Eddie; two sons, Ronald J. Brown and wife Gwen, and Dedrick Kleinpeter; godson, Marvin Young and wife Tenesia; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father, Cornelius Brown Jr.; mother, Irma Armstead Green; two brothers, Bert and Bobby M. Brown; and sister, Jessie Robertson.
