Miner: Henry migrated west from New York State to the Gold Rush before 1850.

In 1847, Henry served in the U.S. Army in the Mexican-American War. He is listed in the U.S. Army, Register of Enlistments, 1798-1914. He was a Private in the 5th Infantry, Company B, under Captain Whitall. He was discharged August 1, 1848.

In the 1850 Federal Census he is listed as, Henry P. Kinion, Placerville and Vicinity, El Dorado, CA. He is living in a household with other people.

He is listed on the 1852 California Census, living in El Dorado County. He is the only one listed for his family.

In the 1860 Federal Census he is listed as H.P. Kenyon in Mud Springs, El Dorado, CA. Also listed are P.H., a female, age 8 born about 1852, and F.E., a male, age 2, born about 1858.

Additionally, Henry was also a Civil War Veteran. He was a Private 2nd Regiment of California Cavalry, for the Union.

On the 1868 tax roll he is living in Sacramento County.

He was treated by Dr. Phelan. His cause of death, pleuritis (sic), age 54.
