— Ruth Jumper, of Claremore, was born Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1931 in Henryetta, to Samuel J. and Julia Sanders Checotah Jr. She died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, in Tulsa at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 23 days.
She married Dave Jumper on Sept. 13, 1950, and was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Claremore where she was a member of the Women's Society. She took pleasure in reading, camping, fishing, word puzzles, crocheting and especially looked forward to the Holidays and spending time with her family, which meant so much to her. She enjoyed many hymns and her favorite Bible verse was 23rd Psalm.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sons, David and John Jumper of Claremore; daughter, Brenda Bell of Claremore; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Claremore. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, in the Reed~Culver Funeral Home Chapel, in Tahlequah, with Reverend Eli McHenry officiating. Burial will follow at the Long Spring Cemetery near Briggs.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, from noon until 8 p.m. at the Reed~Culver Funeral Home.
