Melissa/Malissa was the daughter of William Cooley and Elizabeth Fields. She married Alpheus Harris Alexander 23 Jan 1875 in Randolph County, Missouri and to this union 3 children were born; Frank, William and Ethel. In 1920 she and Alpheus were living in Stone County, Missouri. Her death certificate states that she had lived in a tent city in Houston for about 2 months prior to her death and that she was a widow. I'm not sure how or why she ended up in Houston. If you have any more information on her, please let me know.
