OBITUARY: Mrs Bode, 81, Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Louis Bode, 81, Seymour R4, died in her hone at 3 p.m. Thursday after a serious illness of ten days. She had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. Saturday from the Burkholder Funeral Home and the Burkholder Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. from Saint Paul's Lutheran Church near Cortland with the Rev. Paul Frey of Sunman, Indian, in charge. Burial in Saint Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Bode was born in Germany on February 4, 1876, the daughter of the late William and Louisa Siekmann Pottschmidt.

She moved to the United States in 1882 and spent her early life in Jackson county.

She was married on April 3, 1910, at Indianapolis, to Ernest Schepman, who preceded her in death on December 13, 1914. Mrs. Bode was married on April 30, 19196, to Henry Schroer, who preceded her in death on October 3, 1922. She was married on November 2, 1924, to Fred H. Bode, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1952.

Mrs. Bode was a member of the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church near Cortland. She was a widely known and beloved figure in the community.

Mrs. Bode is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Malinda Engelau, Seymour R4; by one brother, William Pottschmidt, Whiteland, Indiana; by three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Two stepsons, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
