Mrs. Christine Aagesen was born May 2, 1855, at Lindelse, Langeland, Denmark. She was the fifth daughter of Carl Bogh Jorgensen and Jorgine Larsdatter Jorgensen.

She was baptized in infancy, Christine Carlson and confirmed in Lindelse, Denmark, 1869, and continued her membership in the Lutheran church of St. Ansgar. She was married in the winter of 1876 in Sweden to Dr. P.A. Aagesen, who passed away in January, 1916.

They came to St. Ansgar, Iowa, in May, 1881, and continued to make their home here. To this union ten children were born, several of them dying in early infancy. The oldest son, Carl A., who passed away Aug, 1911 at the age of 35 years, at Coulter, Iowa, John G., in March, 1919, at the age of 40 years, at Coulter, Iowa. Walter V. and Arthur E., who make their home in St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Christine Aagesen passed away at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, September 29, 1927, after three months illness, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 27 days. Heart trouble and goitre was the immediate cause of her death. She was accompanied by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arthur Aagesen, to Rochester, Minn., on August 29th to seek aid and remained there three weeks where she had the best of care and received some relief, but her troubles were of to long standing.

Besides her two sons, she leaves to mourn, two sisters, Mrs. Anne Guldborg of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Marie Bendexsen, Milwaukee, Wis. Five grandchildren; Stanley, Jennings, Carl, Marcellus and Virginia, living with their mother, Mrs. Edna Aagesen at Coulter, Iowa, and her cousin, Mrs. Hanna Christianson of St. Paul, Minn., who has been with her much of the time during the last few months of her illness, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Eastern Star of Osage, a charter member of both the Royal Neighbors and Pythian Sisters of St. Ansgar, Iowa and next to her home and her church she was always much interested in the helping of others. They who knew her best will miss her most.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock from the home and two o'clock from the N.E. Lutheran church conducted by her pastor, the Rev. O.A. Langehough. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Present from away to attend the funeral were Mrs. Anna Guldborg and son Louis, Mr. and Mrs. John Guldborg and Mrs. Frank Howe of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Edna Aagesen and family of Coulter, Iowa.
