William G. Buddy Brown, 75, of Sparta, passed away Aug. 6, 2002. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. at Ridgedale Freewill Baptist Church, with burial in Taylors Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Gary Lewis will officiate.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Mr. Brown will lie in state Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Brown was born May 19, 1927, in Cumberland County, the son of Oca and Cordie Catron Brown.
He was employed at Wagoners in maintenance, and served in the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sisters, Mabel Lewis of Sparta and Edna Burtrum and Dorothy Lewis, both of Crossville; brother, Wayne Brown of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.
