MARTIN -- Doyle Abernathy, 84, insurance agent, died Tuesday of heart disease at HCA Volunteer General Hospital. Masonic graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Tansil's Cemetery in Sharon. Murphy Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge 349 in Sharon. Mr. Abernathy, the husband of Mattie Collins Abernathy, also leaves two daughters, Rachel Ellison of Union City and Doris Jackson of Martin; three stepsons, Terry Collins of New Madrid, N.Y., Maurice Collins of Peoria, Ill., and Winford Collins of Henderson; a sister, Rebecca Taylor of Lansing, Mich., and three grandchildren.
