Peter Cone was born August 6, 1790 in Bulloch County, Georgia to Aaron Cone, Sr. and Susannah Hannah Marlow Cone. Peter had eleven siblings. He was the grandson of Revolutionary War veteran William Henry Cone and Keziah Eudel Barber Cone. Peter never married, but with Mary Richardson, the daughter of Abraham Richardson, he had two children: Peter Cone Richardson and General Cone Richardson. He was a veteran of the War of 1812 and a Major General in the Confederacy in the 2nd Brigade of the 1st Georgia Militia. He died January 6, 1866 and is buried at the Old William Cone-Barber Family Cemetery in Bulloch County.
