Gary Stanton Adams, 80, formerly of Menan and Rigby, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center and was under the care of Creekside Hospice.
He was born March 19, 1929, in Ontario, Oregon, to Leslie Leonard Adams and Venda Sophia Rash Adams. He grew up and attended Rigby schools and graduated from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College.
In November 1955, he married Mildred Elaine Ivie in Elko, Nevada. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He worked at the INEL, NRF facility, as a chemist for more than 30 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary enjoyed guns and reloading his own ammunition, hunting, fishing, horses and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Adams of Idaho Falls; daughters, Valerie McConnell of Idaho Falls, Michele (Bill) Iannone of Reeders, Penn.; sons, Michael Adams of Preston and Sean Adams of Idaho Falls; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
