The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871 at Seymour is named in honor of Mrs. Andruss' only son, Eldred J. Andruss, Baylor County's first World War II casualty.
Staff Sergeant Andruss was a waist gunner with the 379th Bombardment Group and flew missions with the 525th Bomb Squadron from 29 June 1934 to 17 August 1943. He was shot down in France and buried in the Lorraine Germany cemetery, just outside St. Avoid, France.
