Ruth Ann Ackerman suffered a stroke of paralysis about six weeks ago and had lighter strokes since until four weeks ago she was compelled to keep her bed. She suffered much physical pain at first but at last calmly sank away until one o'clock Sunday afternoon when the final summons came.
She grew to womanhood in Pennsylvania.
After her marriage, the family resided in New York State until 1868 when they moved to Trempealeau County and settled in the fine track of country between Centerville and Galesville. Living there about twenty-four years a change was made to Big Creek in Monroe County where they lived until coming to Onalaska.
She was a member of of the Methodist church for about thirty years and leaves a large circle of friends who join the bereaved in sympathy in their loss.
Interment in Onalaska Cemetery.
