Funeral services were held for the late B.D. Anderson at 1:30 from the Thorsen Funeral Home and at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethany Lutheran church, Friday, April 14, 1950. Rev. T.J. Knutson officiating. Mrs. Orrin Baker sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Sweet By and By" acompanied by Miss Naomi Anderson. Pallbearers were Burdell Swenson, Clarion Swenson, Kermit Elleby, Milbert Larson, Frank Klein, and Harold Nelson. Mrs. Arne Foss, Miss Ann Peterson and Miss Ida Kirkus arranged the flowers. Bardenus Anderson, son of Thomas and Mary Bjornson Anderson, was born south of Leland, in Adams township, November 16, 1857. He passed peacefully away at the Sandwich Memorial hospital, April 11, at the age of 92 years. He was baptized and instructed in the fundamentals of the Christian religion, and was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran church and a generous contributor to the Lord's work both at home in in foreign lands. He loved his Bible and found much comfort and cheer in his daily meditation. In 1883, Mr. Anderson married Esther Farley. To this union were born two sons, who with their mother, passed away. In 1890, he was united in marriage to Hannah Farley. Three children, Eva, Helen and Burton were born to them. Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his wife, his daughter Helen, one great-granddaughter, his parents, one brother and three sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Mrs. Irvin Gunderson, one son, Burton Anderson, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchilren and a host of relatives and friends.
