Anne, 87, died at Westminster Canterbury, Richmond.
Her husband of 67 years, Ben Lacy Rose;
3 children, Mrs. J. Michael (AnneNancy) Vosler, of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. J. Robert (Peggy) Day, of Noank, Conn., and Ben L. Rose Jr. of Richmond; a third daughter, Mrs. Lucy Atkinson Rose-Cook, who died in 1997.
4 grandchildren, Mrs. Anne Vosler Smith of San Anselmo, Calif., Mrs. Anne Day Gaudet of Charlton, Mass., John Robert Day IV of Westerly, R.I. and Lucy McIlwaine Cook of Decatur, Ga.;
4 great-grandchildren, Darien J. Gaudet, Michelle R. Gaudet, Cale P.T. Smith and Jesse F.C. Smith. She is also survived by one brother, D. Gregg Thompson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
She was born in Petersburg, Va., and graduated from John Marshall High School in Richmond and from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board honor societies. Her primary career was that of wife, mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Ginter Park Presbyterian Church in Richmond, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a Deacon and an Elder in the Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, where she served twice as president of the Women’s Organization and for many years as a Circle Bible teacher. She was active in Church Women United, served as a Girl Scout leader in Bristol, Va., Wilmington, N.C., and Richmond, Va. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Brookfield Home and as a Block Captain in the Sherwood Park Community Association of Richmond. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Richmond for 35 years. She enjoyed membership in the Ginter Park Book Reviewers Club.
