Garret Roelofse Schenck was one of the orginal Dutch settlers of Monmouth County. In 1695 he moved from Brooklyn to Pleasant Valley (Holmdel), Monmouth County, NJ.

He had 11 children, five boys, all of whom had huge families, leading to a grand total of 104 grandchildren, and perhaps 2,000 great-great-grandchildren.

He is supposed to be buried here.
