She was the d/o Sir John Milledge Canady and Missouri Sarah Powell.
"Once Upon A Lifetime" Vol.3, p.138 by La Viece Moore-Fraser Smallwood. She filed for Claim of Widow for Service Pension under Act of Jul. 27, 1892 at which time she was living @ Taylor, Fl. In support of her claim W.M.IVES and J.A.BETHA both residnets of Lake City, FL stated the court records and marriage records in and for Columbia Co., FL were destroyed by fire in 1874. ON Mar.22, 1890 Abel COWART stated he was a resident of Charlton Co., GA, was 90 yrs. of age and was present at the marriage of West and Elizabeth in 1842. Elizabeth was awarded Pension Cert. #3101 due to West's service.
