He is the son of Peter Anderson and Kjerstine Marie Jepsen. He was born in Thisted, Jutland, Denmark. His family settled in Lincoln Co., Kansas but Andrew came to Texas when he was about 11 years old according to family lore. He married Elizabeth (Bettie) Belle Morrow 26 Oct 1885 in Georgetown, Williamson Co., Texas. They had three children: Andrew Elliott, Annis Alexander, and Ella Mary.
