Richard E. Cronk, 76, of 468 Chatfield Road, Elbridge, died Friday at his home. He was born in Shepards Settlement and was a life resident of the Skaneateles Falls area.
He had retired from the Welch-Allyn Co., in Skaneateles. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and commander and past chaplain of the Valentine-Meyer American Legion Post 317 in Skaneateeles Falls. Mr. Cronk was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Mottville. His first wife, Dorothy, died in 1986. He is survived by his wife, June Cronk, a son, Robert E. Cronk, of Chittenango; three brothers, Raymond of Tully, Arlington of Syracuse, and Roger of North Syracuse; three sisters, Pauline Godfrey of Camillus; Joan Cronk, of Cedarvale; and Marge Travis, of Sherburne, Fla.; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held a 11 a.m., Monday at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles, Rev. George McCracken will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, in Warners. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home at 49 Jordan St. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
