JOHN T. GARRIS, 71, died Monday morning at home. Born in Topeka, Kan., Mr. Garris retired as a carpenter in 1983 after 35 years. Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Burkett, of Warsaw, Sheryl Wedler, of Fort Wayne, and Geraldine Davison, of Monroeville; two sons, Thomas and David, both of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Marie Hartmann and Samantha, both of Oelwein, Iowa, and Irene Vogd, of Chicago; five brothers, Fleir, and George, both of Chicago, and Pete, Adam and Jerome, all of Oelwein; and 10 grandchildren. Services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2101 Pemberton Drive, with calling an hour before. Caling 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery with military graveside rites.
