Here is the poem at the bottom of Mary Ann's marker. Judith Smith who was with Louine and me that day copied it and sent it to me.
Father I give my spirit up

I believe I found this on the main road going out of Crooked Tree. If you ever go searching, use the old schoolhouse as a landmark and park across from it. In the field there is a small stand of trees. Mary Ann Shriver Jordan, her daughter-in-law (who was also her niece) Sally Shriver Jordan (wife of Isaac the twin), and Sally's infant son are buried there. Sally died ten years before Mary Ann and their markers are nearly identical. So this may the earlier of Mary Ann's two markers, as it is
so like Sally's 1824 marker.
MaryAnn was Jacob's wife; consort may have been used more commonly then than now. I have a very hard-to-read copy of their marriage certificate (with Shriver misspelled), if anyone is interested. Forgot to mention that at the reunion. We didn't contact anyone for this one. It is located on County Road #18, Jackson Township, Section 17, Noble County, Ohio, near the old Delancey School.

Crooked Tree, Noble, Ohio, Macksburg, 39.638ºN, 81.499ºW

Crooked Tree Cemetary is on St. Rt. 339, just off Interstate77. The closest exit would be exit 16, the Macksburg exit. Then go north on 821 a little ways, you will turn left onto 339. Cemetary is right behind the Church.
