ARGUS CHAMPION, THURSDAY MAY 27TH 1943

Frederick Warren Gonyea died at his home on Green Road, Sunday May 23 after a long illness. He had been a resident of Newport for 51 years coming here from Ripton, VT. He was born at Saranac, NY on April 25 1860, the son of Louis and Sally ( La Roche) Gonyea. He was married to Minnie Delias and later to Nora Hadley May 15, 1915. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Nora Gonyea, five sons, Warren D, Frederick Jr., Perley, Albertina and Ernest Gonyea. One sister, Mrs. Rose Pelkey of Brockton, MA, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Mrs. Louise Gebo.

He was a carpenter by trade. Funeral services were held Wed May 26th at St Patrick's church at 9am. Father M.R. Griffin officiated at the services. Bearers were Warren, Perley, Albertin, and Ernest Gonyea. He was buried at St Patricks Cemetery.

Married to Julia Ann Delias in Ripton, VT on July 4, 1882. Julia Ann died in 1910 of consumption.

Married Nora Hadley Gould on May 15, 1915.

Either remarried or renewed vows on November 13, 1942 to Nora Hadley Gould.

Buried in unmarked grave in son Alberton's plot.
