Mr. Fuqua was born Aug. 5, 1898, in Hazzard, Mo., the son of Herbert and Elizabeth Fuqua. He attended school in Port Huron, Mich., and married Edna K. Knapp on March 3, 1921, in Kansas City. She died in September 1990.
Mr. Fuqua was involved in farming and cattle feeding near Leavenworth until 1946, when he moved to Grand Junction. In the 1950s, he developed the Columbine Subdivision of more than 30 homes near Grand Junction.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction. He moved to McLouth in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert, Bogota, Colombia, and Jerry, McLouth; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
