Obituary for Robert Miles Hutchinson
Biggsville, Jan 3.----Funeral services for Miles Hutchinson, who passed away on Tuesday at his home here, were held on yesterday afternoon at the home. The service was in charge of Rev. H. E. Whitmeyer of the South Henderson church, and he was assisted by Rev. W. H. French of the Biggsville United Presbyterian church. Mr and Mrs. H. B. Kelly sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and the "Twenty-third Psalm." They were accompanied by Mrs. Marshall Gibb. Pallbearers were Walter Gridley of Kirkwood, W. A. Wiegnad of Burlington, Harry Plummer, Miles Smith, A. P. McHenry and Harold Lundgren. The flowers were very beautiful. Burial was in the Biggsville cemetery. Many relatives and friends from out of town were in attendance.
Robert Miles Hutchinson passed away December 31, 1935, at 12 o'clock noon, at his home in Biggsville. He was born August 25, 1856, in the old homestead where he lived his entire life. He was the son of William John and Nancy Tyler Hutchinson, and was one of a family of twelve children, all of whom have preceded him in death, except his youngest brother, William John, who is in the Burlington hospital at present.
He was united in marriage to Agnes Sloan, on December 20, 1877, to this union were born three children, Edith M. Findley of Stronghurst, James S. of Kirkwood and Nancy H. Renstrom of Biggsville. There are three grandchildren, Agnes F. Sanderson, Florence May and Nancy Findley of Stronghurst, and two great-grandchildren, Edith Patricia and James M. Sanderson, of Stronghurst. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchinson celebrated their 58th anniversary, December 20 of the past year. Mr. Hutchinson united with the South Henderson U. P. Church early in life and served as an elder many years. He was one of the two oldest members at the centennial celebration of the church last summer. He was actively engaged in farming and stock raising, until three years ago, when he retired
