Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Del Norte Methodist Church for Clarence O. Goodman, pioneer resident of Del Norte. Mr. Goodman passed away Saturday morning at St. Joseph Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
Mr. Goodman was born in Indianola, Iowa, February 9, 1874, and was 64 years old at the time of his death. He was the eldest of four sons born to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Oscar Goodman.
The Goodman family came west and to Colorado and the San Luis Valley in 1887. Clarence spent in boyhood days in Del Norte, attending school here, and grew to manhood in this community.
On June 26, 1898, he married Lola B. Sanders, and to this union were born a daughter, Ida, now deceased, and a son, Oscar.
Mr. Goodman was a member of the Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias lodge in Del Norte, and the Security Benefit Association.
He is survived by his widow, son, Oscar, and a granddaughter, Wealthy Wheeler; two brothers, Ira and Joel of Del Norte; a son-in-law, Barney Wheeler; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dan Sanders; two nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Joel Goodman and Mrs. Ira Goodman. A brother, Charles, is deceased.
Rev. Dillon of Sargent was in charge of the funeral. Burial as in the Del Norte cemetery.
