A graduate of Wade Hampton High School and The University of South Carolina, he was a classroom teacher at Birchwood School at the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, SC for over 26 years. Daniel enjoyed reading and writing in his leisure time.
He is survived by his parents of Varnville, one daughter, Sarah Danielle Polk of Charlotte, NC and two brothers, David Polk of Spartanburg and Marcus Polk and wife June of Winnsboro, SC.
Interment was in Gooding Cemetery, Crocketville.
