Raymond E. Adams, Col. U.S. Army Retired AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest at his residence on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, Raymond E. "Bodie" Adams. Mr. Adams was born in Owings Mill, MD. He served his country for 34 years in the U.S. Army. During his Army career, he served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre, Korea, Dominican Republic and Vietnam where he received many Military Decorations. He retired at the rank of Col. in the U.S. Army. He then served 18 years as the Manager of the East Central Health District for the Georgia Dept. of Human Resources. Mr. Adams was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church and West Lake Country Club. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Fran Adams; his parents, I. Frank Adams and Nettie Lanham Adams; his brothers, Frank Adams, Ralph Adams and Mose Adams, and his sister, Hilda Collins. Mr. Adams is survived by his niece, Carole Hart and her husband, Terry; nephew, Tom Collins and his wife, Angel; great niece, Amanda Collins; great nephews, Brian Hart and Todd Collins and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Adams and June Adams. Funeral Services will be held today, Saturday, May 13, 2006, 12:00 noon, at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church with Rev. Neil Phelps officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
