Ernest Louis Hill, 49, a retired serviceman who has been a civil service employee at Fort Knox for the past six years, died at 3 p.m. Monday at his home, 7112 Dunkirk, Valley Station.
Hill retired from the Army in 1956 after serving for 22 years. He was a native of Mt. Vernon, Ind.
He was a member of the Fort Knox Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, the Amaranth, and the South Jefferson Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Vivian Vandruff; a daughter, Miss Nancy Hill; a son, Richard Hill and a brother, Floyd Hill, of Kansas City, Mo.
The body is at the W. G. Hardy Valley Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Main Post Chapel, Fort Knox. Burial will be in the post cemetery at Fort Knox.
